Free Certificate Course on Artificial Intelligence for Local Value from the University of Carleton, Canada in Collaboration with Bayero University, Kano.
Faculty members in universities in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia are working together to develop, promote, deliver, and improve the AI for Local Value program. As of the end of September, 26 organizations located in nine countries and six continents form a group called G26.
The G26 comprised of individuals who work for universities and institutes. Bayero University is one of the universities selected in Nigeria.
The program focuses on using artificial intelligence (AI) to increase the value of companies and improve the services of cities. The AI for Local Value program offers free certificate and Upon completion of this program, a participant will be able to:
1. Develop opportunities to apply AI to create value for companies and cities
2. Enhance G26 organizations’ impact on their local communities
3. Produce a report that helps an organization become an AI leader in your community
4. Produce takeaways (statements of fact or belief that are worth recalling and disseminating).
5. Acquire knowledge and skills using experiential learning and comparative analysis approaches
The course starts Wednesday, October 7, 2020 (ET). There will be six sessions over seven weeks. The duration of each session is 90 minutes (1.5 hours)
Targets university students, entrepreneurs, company employees, and community leaders who wish to solve real-world problems in their communities using AI.
Formal education in AI is not a requirement. However, awareness of AI applications is desirable.
